Obama has now said he won't rescind the tax cuts or raise taxes on the wealthy because it would be bad for our economy in these slow times. Today, he said the bailout will mean he can't implement the spending plans he has, at least not as quickly (hmm, maybe I'll think twice about that bailout now). We all know he's not really sure what he wants to do with Iran and he's thinking a bit about what to do with Russia. So, essentially, we have a man who is asking us to vote for him because he just really wants to be president.
Me too. I wanna be president. Vote for me!
What I don't get though is this: Obama seems like a pretty smart guy. How come he can show us that he knows high taxes are bad for the economy and yet persist in asking us to vote for him so he can raise them? How can he be smart enough to figure out that we're all trying to figure out how we can afford to bailout Wall Street, that he knows it's going to tap us out and we're all worried about that, but he's asking us to vote so he can spend all our money? He's a smart guy, why can't he see the contradictions in his premises?Posted by Sea Rover at September 23, 2008 5:19 PM | PROCURE FINE OLD WORLD ABSINTHE
