Anyone on the list into Donaldson's (Stephen R.) work?

Read the White Gold Wielder series when it was published. Hated/Loved the characters, but it was the longest wait to come to a dissapointing ending I have ever experienced. Have not read his work since.

Aye, you mean "The Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant", of which White Gold Wielder was the last of three (actually six -- there was a first Chronicles, too) books. There is also a long-awaited seventh book (first of four more to properly "end" the story) called "The Runes of the Earth" (genius!) which was published about a year ago. IMO Donaldson is one of the great masters of epic fantasy, second only to Tolkien in terms of scope, setting and depth.

Didn't like those books at all. Though I did like Mirror of Her Dreams and the sequel A Man Rides Through (I think those were the titles)

Yes, the Thomas Covenant series was the one. I read all six as they were published, think it took all of eight years IIRC. Throughout the series I kept urging ol' Tom to just get OVER it and deal with what you HAVE. Didn't know there was a seventh book. Since the ending left me rather empty I have avoided Donaldson. I may read it....
