George Lucas' longtime producing partner Rick McCallum told the BBC that a proposed Star Wars TV series will run for at least 100 episodes.[....]
The series will be set between Episode III and IV of the film saga and will cover the 20 years in the life of Luke Skywalker growing up. McCallum said there would be "a whole bunch of new characters" and the series would be "much more dramatic and darker."
Why set it between III & IV? I'd much rather a series set after Jedi, even if it's about Han, Leia, Luke's kids or grandkinds. But that's just me.

I think that Luke's growing up set against the backdrop of the Clone Wars and the growing power of the Empire could be good. We'll also need to see Leia growing up as well and watch Darth Vader's development into what we saw in Episode III.
I wonder if they'll get Jimmy Smits?
