| PROCURE FINE OLD WORLD ABSINTHE
The local Scottish Society had their Burns Dinner last Saturday. I've gone to a number of these things as a representative of the "Celtic Cultural Society". These things are just just a hoot - the haggis - which is not half bad when you douse it with Scotch - gets paraded around the room, incomprehensible Burns poetry is recited and there are about a dozen toasts to the lads, the lassies, the President, the Queen and the immortal memory.
I was going to go to this year's dinner, but couldn't because I had the kids that night. Also, if I'd have go, I'd have been looking for a date, preferably some Celtic chick.
Good times, good times.
Used to go every year, that and the Tartan Ball. But our local society imploded as groups are wont to do, and the fun went away.
