Gillian Anderson
Nice interview by Maureen Ryan with Gillian Anderson on "Lady Dedlock, Dana Scully and the influence of 'The X-Files'"
I'm looking forward to catching Bleak House at some point, and it's a plus the screenplay was adapted and written by Andrew Davies, who did the BBC "Pride & Prejudice". Should be good!

| PROCURE FINE OLD WORLD ABSINTHE
My younger daughter's college professor intends to use the PBS Bleak House to suppliment their reading. I assume that he means to have the students compare/contrast the presentations between Dicken's own writing and what is left after it has been adapted as a screenplay.
It helps that the adaptation is taking the 8-hour War-and-Peace approach rather than the usual turn-the-book-into-a-short-story transmogrification that takes place in creating a normal hour-and-a-half to three hour screenplay out of a book. Look how much they had to clip the most recent Pride and Prejudice to make the movie.
