Open "Mic" Day

If you're one of the few poor souls, who like me, is at work today, then this post is for you! The comments are open for you to discuss whatever catches your fancy. And if you aren't at work, I'll let you play too, cus I'm such a giver :)

A few possible topics:

What you're doing for the holiday.

Do you watch any of the parades/sporting events?

Going to any movies?

Are you one of the insane 'day after Thanksgiving' shoppers?

And anything else you feel a burning desire to share.

So go for it!

One of the downsides to being a top-level geek in a high-speed low-drag technical support role is that you have to take your turn giving up holidays. Someone has to keep the internet running.

Like me, tomorrow. I don't actually have to go into the office, but I'm on call... so the holiday-squelching effect is much the same.

Working today and Friday. Doing light cooking tonight and tomorrow. Christmas is my big cooking day. Dreading the run to the store this afternoon.

If time permits - Thanksgiving agenda - SLEEP!

Having the holidays off is still a novel concept for me. My father worked every holiday, and then as an adult, so did I till I toook this job. So I finally had them off, but the rest of my family worked. May be why Thanksgiving isn't that big a deal in my family.

Baking 4 pies this evening and making a cranberry salad. Going to family in hometown for Thanksgiving meal tomorrow. There will be about 19 people there.
I try to watch some of the parade, but usually I am on the road during the parade. I definitely watch the football games.
I'm hoping to go see Harry Potter this weekend.
No way am I going to venture out to the malls on Friday (i personally call it Hell Day!)
Definitely no shopping after 2:30 pm my time on Saturday, it's bedlam football.

driving to Fresburg tonight (hopefully late enough to miss the traffic) although I am conflicted about getting in too late to go see Dad...

Shopping like mad Friday AM. It's a great time to pick up toys CHEAP for the Nieces and Nephews (and DH)

Staying home tomorrow and cooking a simple meal. Got my movies lined up (Rosemary's Baby, Rob Roy, and the Capercaillie concert DVD). No shopping on Friday. If fact I probably wont go out until Sat. morning (to the indoor range). I hate football. The only way to make it interesting would be to give the players swords. As for parades, forget about it. If our victorious legions are parading the wealth and captives from the latest nation to fall to our triumphant march to global hegemony, it might be worth watching.
