Wasn't Lost great last night?
Nightstalker was canceled
Today's mood: pensive
Sleepy
Nin has to work Thanksgiving from 1-9pm, which means we don't even get to go out to eat as planned.
Thinking if seeing the new Harry Potter movie Sunday night -- or not.
I'm in a rut
Just finished reading another Master & Commander book. Only 16 more to go!
Nin's turning 30 in a few weeks which makes me feel older than dirt

Posted by: Francis W. Porretto at November 17, 2005 2:09 PMToday I found out I'm the on-call guy for Thanksgiving Day... well, evening really - 3pm-midnight. I just know I'm going to get called in, I just know it. Dang.
I'm on volume 16 of the M&C set myself. Terrific reads, all of them. I'd kill for more movies (assuming, of course, they were well done.)
Posted by: Russ at November 17, 2005 2:47 PMIt's more that I remember picking her up from the Greyhound station, site unseen back when she was barely 20. She was a little waif sitting on this giant duffle bag. Now she's all grownup and accomplished. I'm very proud of my NinjaPiglet :)
Posted by: Ith at November 17, 2005 3:50 PMActually I was bored with Lost lastnight. I thought it was slow and didn't really provide anything to help the story line.
Posted by: Contagion at November 17, 2005 4:24 PMHi Ith! Would love to hear your thoughts bout the POB books youve read so far. Youre among a handful of people I know online as well as offline that have actually read them.
On to Desolation Island then?
Posted by: Sharon Ferguson at November 18, 2005 1:07 PMWhat sort of thoughts? Other than I really like them? :)
Posted by: Ith at November 18, 2005 1:22 PMfavorite funny parts, favorite serious parts ie emotional parts. What bit of writing stood out to you?
For myself I have a hard time answering that question, because the writing flows so seamlessly its hard for me to pick out exact passages. I remember bits and phrases that got me. Its not like LOTR where I can pick out exact paragraphs that grabbed me and stayed with me.
I am making another pass thorugh the books myself, taking more time with it and making sure to check my speed-reading habit. I blazed through too fast before, and I think I have a better sense of the jargon. I still dont know what half of the nautical stuff is going on, but I get a better picture of it.
Posted by: Sharon Ferguson at November 18, 2005 2:41 PMOh forgot to say that in my third readthrough of the books, I am still only on Post Captain.
