"I Hate Guns"

So the new James Bond hates guns. But that's not what this post is about. It's about "shaken AND stirred martinis". Yes, apparently, the new Bond thinks the martini his character is famous for are shaken and stirred. As opposed to shaken and NOT stirred. And so does the person who wrote the article about it.

.... Nor does the 37-year-old share Bond's love of Martinis shaken and stirred.

"I love a Martini straight up. I don't think anybody makes a Martini stirred any more," he said.

Absolutely hopeless.

Don't get me started on Martinis. A true Martini is stirred and made of only gin & dry vermouth, garnished with a olive or a twist. Saying "Martini" implys stirred, if you want it shaken order a Bradford.

I'd never heard of a Bradford before, but when I myself posted about Martinis I noted that having "Vodka" in front of the title was like having an astirisk in front of a baseball record.

I'll have a scotch on the rocks, hold the ice.

I know Vodka Martinis aren't "real" Martinis, but I've also never really liked gin, so there we go.

As for shoelover's comment, perhaps I'll have a vodka martini, hold the vermouth. ;-)
