That my extremely noisy upstairs neighbours are moving out? This is kewl for two reasons:
1) less noise
2) other tenants warned me about them when I moved in a year ago (yes, it's been a year!) that they had gotten the previous tenants in my apartment evicted. And the land lord had made a point of what wonderful 20 year tenants they were. So now, if I need to, I can actualy complain about the noise with the new tenants without fear. Hopefully, they'll be quiet!

Yeah, I feel the same. In the beginning, it seemd to be good that people would live in a place that long, but it didn't take long to realize that it gave them privilaged status.

When we looked at this place, we were impressed that the people on the first floor had been here 28 years.
In retrospect, that may have been a big red flag. Especially in light of how solicitous the landlord's wife sounded toward them; wanting to pick carefully for this apartment so as not to bother them, because this was "their home."
Our impression may be off, but so far it looks suspiciously like they treat the building as theirs. Which I have no patience with. Renting is renting. You want control, buy a house.
