I love watches and I collect them. These are very nice indeed -- they appeal to my sense of whimsy and oddness.

I'm afraid my collection isn't quite so high end :)
Posted by: Ith at September 22, 2005 3:08 PMMy Mom collected watches. Her objective was the funkier the better. They had to be fun. I have many of them now.
Posted by: Anna at September 22, 2005 8:51 PMLooking at that watch reminds me of something I seem to remember from Germany, that it was common (on the radio, at least) for the announcers to say 3:25 as "5 'til half after three". I thought that was whimsical.

You collect watches, Ith? I had no idea. I'm working at Tourneau here in Boston selling them until I have "real" job (i.e., as a lawyer) again, so I've learned a frightening amount about them in so short a time. Surprisingly interesting stuff.
Interest you in a limited-edition platinum Jaeger-LeCoultre skeletonized reverso tourbillon? Marked down to "only" $47000? ;-) I'm kidding, of course, but we only had it in the store for a three-day trunk sale of pre-owned pieces, and I SO wanted to sell that one, as it've meant a huge commission and making my sales goal for the month in one day.
