007 No More

Pierce Brosnan Out As James Bond, 007

A single, surprising phone call and it was over. That's how Pierce Brosnan says he learned that his services as James Bond would no longer be required.

"One phone call, that's all it took!" the 52-year-old actor tells Entertainment Weekly magazine in its Aug. 19 issue.

Brosnan starred in four Bond films. He says that before they stopped negotiations, the producers had invited him back for a fifth time.

"You know, the movie career for me really started with Bond," says Brosnan, acknowledging that by the time "GoldenEye" premiered in 1995, he was already 42.

Let the replacement stakes begin for absoulute real this time!

(Any mention of Adrian Paul being cast will get you banned and blacklisted!) (Just kidding) Well, maybe I'm just kidding) (You don't want to find out)

Hope they do better than George Lazenby. Saw part of 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' last night for the first time (been avoiding it all these years).

Perhaps Lazenby would have been better if the story hadn't been so stupid.

On the other hand, Diana Rigg just vaulted to the top of my 'favority Bond girls' list. What class!

I read somewhere yesterday that Hugh Jackman took himself out of the running.

*sad sigh*

I always thought the non-speaking part Pierce had in "The Long Good Friday" was his best work.

And nobody would have done well with the script for "In Her Magesty's Secret Service." Stupid doesn't begin to cover it.

As a long time James Bond fan, I thought Pierce Brosnan did an excellent job. In fact he's my second favorite bond, Sean Connery being the best. As for a replacement, lets hope it isn't Ben Afflek.

Oh God - I hope its not Ben "AFLAC!!" either.

Just as long as they dont get someone imitation Roger Dalton. UGH.

You mean Timothy Dalton? He was my favourite James Bond. I was so bummed when he wasn't Bond anymore.

Dalton?! You're soo of the ship. I'd take Lansby over Dalton. It may also be because both of the ones he were in stunk.

C'mon Ith! Roger Moore was a better Bond then Dalton!

Sorry guys, but Dalton has been one of my favourite actors for years. I was a happy camper when he was cast as Bond and he'll always be one of my favourites.
