Via Nin comes news of an American Idol for washed up one hit wonders:
OK... This show is just bizarre!'Hit Me Baby, One More Time' is a NBC show where groups from the top ten lists of the past come onto a live show and not only do they play their hit song and a song from today, but they're voted on!!
Artists on the show: Wang Chung, The Knack, Vanilla Ice, The Motels, A Flock of Seagulls, Tiffany, and many more.
When she told me about this at dinner, I told her she had to post about it!

So one-hit wonders can be recycled just like cardboard and tin cans, eh? The things they can do with technology these days!
I remain bemused -- and amused -- by the frenzied combing of the recent past in a search for fresh diversions for us of the present. Apparently, the irony escapes many.

Dang. I'm going to have to watch it.
I guess it's only a matter of time before bands from that era start showing up on PBS at pledge time.
[Which isn't necessarily a bad thing - the Moody Blues "Live at Red Rocks" was pretty good, and seeing it on PBS pushed me to go see their live concerts... a dozen times, actually.]
