"Titanic in Space"

George Lucas is saying the last film will be "a real tearjerker" and likens it to "Titanic in space" according to this article. Then I get to this:

If Lucas's comparison to "Titanic" is to be believed, there must be heartbreak in "Revenge of the Sith" because 1997's tale of the doomed ocean liner stirred audiences with its tale of an ill-fated affair between characters played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

Well freakin' DUH!! Have these people never seen the original three movies? How could it end in anything but heartbreak and tragedy? You know, before he started working on the second trilogy, this was the movie I most wanted to see. It's like any movie or book on King Arthur -- you know it can only end one way, but I'm glued to the story regardless. But, considering how little I enjoyed the last two films, I'm almost dreading this one. If it follows the pattern of the last two, it'll be a huge disappointment. More so due to my prior hopes in finally seeing this story presented. While I refuse to get my hopes up for this one, a little part of me is virtually crossing my fingers. Yeah, I know, I'm a sap :)

Sap? Not at all.

Sure, we all know it's going to end poorly for The Good, but seeing how it plays out may yet be worth the price of admission.

I do really hope Jar-Jar gets it in the neck, though.

Could you ever imagine a incedent like the RMS TITANIC today? the lawyers would have been at the dock waiting for the CARPATHIA to dock

Condor, there WERE huge lawsuits around what happened to the Titanic.
