I Said I Would

Post about Battlestar Galactica that is.

How come last week, it took a few minutes to run the Cylon test, and now it takes 11 hours? And how come Baltar is going to lie about someone coming out Cylon? I understood why he lied last week, because blonde chick scared him into thinking that Boomer might kill him since he was alone with her. But why lie now?

I love the fact Starbuck is still injured. Most shows would have had her all better by the middle of the next ep.

The President is becoming quite ruthless.

Helen/Ellen? -- Cylon? She seems like an older, less stable version of blonde chick cylon. I think she is.

Very amusing at the end in Baltar's lab where they're all confessing and telling Adama that they thought he might be a Cylon.

"Bill"??

And Debbie asks in the comments of this post:

I'm not figuring out the purpose of the sub-plot of the Boomer cylon and the other guy trapped on that planet. It's not tracking for me...anyone got any theories?

Debbie, I asked that a few weeks back. One of the commenters said she thought it might be a breeding attempt. That makes more sense than anything I've come up with.

On a related SF note: SG1 and Atlantis were both awesome! If you'd like to discuss either further, you can check out my Stargate email list.

Good theory, Ith.(re: Boomer cylon)

I agree the President is tough/ruthless, but I believe she is trustworthy,(notwithstanding sending her aid on a seduction and spy mission, but desparate times call for desparate measures) especially since she is dying and has nothing to lose.

Baltar is a whiny weasel and its creepy how he's always being caught in some kind of masterbatory fantasy.

I like Edward James Olmos in this role more than anything else I've seen him do.

I like Starbuck and the actress who plays her.

I want to learn more about the religion they follow.ALso, more about how humans ended up elsewhere in the universe...guess all this stuff will be revealed.

I just got back from a wedding in L.A. and guess who my aunt's next door neighbor is. The President of the 12 colonies of Kobol herself, Mary McDeonnell. I got to meet her and mentioned how everyone I know that likes sci-fi is enjoying her BSG. She seems very excited about the show and is looking forward to a long run.

To take your theory about mating one step further, what if they discover Earth and it is populated by monotheistic, baby producing Cylons? Ahhhhhhhh! Cylons are Red Staters. Bush could use a few Raiders over Iran about now.

Uh oh, you guys are a week ahead of us sluggish Canadians! No worries though, I've already read most of the episode summaries so there's no spoiling.

As for Helo/Boomer a breeding attempt seems to be the likely angle, but to what end? The Cylons wipe out humanity only to replace it with... humanity?

One thing I loved from this week's (your last week's) episode Flesh and Bone: Starbuck having the little votive figurines stashed in her locker. This is exactly the sort of thing early polytheistic religions had in spades, and it was a nice touch that rings true from an archaeological and historical perspective.

The Cylons look upon themselves as the "children of man"; so, what better way to prove that the children have grown up properly than to mate with their "parent race."

It's just a theory I've had since I first saw the Boomer/Helo stuff, and I have yet to think up anything better.

I watched all the BSG episodes from SKY that I 'obtained' off the torrents. This was the second episode that I watched, and the next few are fairly good.

I need to watch them when they come on to get in a rythym of watching them on the right nights, or set the Replay or something.

Jon, a friend of mine watched the whole season that way. She said she's going to wacth them as the air next season because then she'll have people to talk to when the ep is fresh.
