Holy Assertions!

Peter Sean passes on the link to this interview with David Klinghoffer, who has a new book out — Why the Jews Rejected Jesus: The Turning Point in Western History. Sounds like a book to add to the Wish List!

Speaking of books, I am reading "No holds barred", by blogger Mark D. Roberts, and I am DEVOURING it. It is a word in due season from God to me...It is about praying thru the Psalms. I love this bit..talking about Psalms of remembering, where the Psalmists talks of what God had done for Israel thru history..brought them out of Egypt etc:

Roberts says:

"The Israelites fabricated a god that fit their cultural expectations. And so do we when we forget the God of history. We end up not with golden calves, but with gods that reflect our own ethos. We worship gods of relativism, materialism, and emotionalism. Our gods wink and our sin, rather than judge it and deliver us from it. They give us good feelings, at least momentarily, but ultimately leave us unsatisfied and tethered to nothing but our own imagination.
Prayers of rememberance, however, keep us anchored to the Rock, to the real God who revealed himself in history. The more we recount in prayer what God has done, the more our relationship with Him will be genuine, lasting and growing."

GREAT STUFF!!
