A House Recap Is Needed!

Kathleen asks in the comments for a recap of the last House episode, "Heavy". But I'm a lousy recapper, so how about we all try and do a joint recap for her in the comments of this post, and between the lot of us, maybe we can give her an overview.

Thanks!!!

And for all your House needs, you can always check this out :)

Posted by Ithildin at March 31, 2005 5:48 PM | PROCURE FINE OLD WORLD ABSINTHE

we're watching it right now... 50 minutes in, this is what has happened:

a 10 year old girl who is obese collapses doing jump rope on the playground. she's House's new patient. they can't figure out how a 10 year old girl had a heart attack. later they find out she took diet pills. but as soon as they decide case closed, she, in typical fabulous House fashion, develops necrosis from a staph infection. which basically means that unless they can figure out what's causing the necrosis and treat it, they have to cut off her [two soft squeezable things] so she doesn't die. they figure out that the obesity and the necrosis are symptoms of Cushings (?). they do an MRI and find that she has a tumor that causes Cushings. right between her eyes. they do surgery through her lip and nasal cavity or something to remove the tumor. all will be well and she'll be skinny as Paris Hilton to boot.

meanwhile, House sees another patient at the clinic, a "fat" woman who appears to be pregnant. prego turns out to have a 30-lb. benign tumor, but she refuses to have it operated on, because it's benign and just gives her a little heartburn. turns out she doesn't want to lose 30 lbs. because then her husband, who likes lotsa cushion, won't think she's [gr]exy. later, hubby comes in and tells House that he wants wifey to have the surgery so she doesn't leave their six kids behind when she dies of heartburn. House sees pics of kids and tells hubby to tell wifey to come back in. Wifey comes back in and House has discerned from the color of the kids' eyes that only 3 of those 6 kids, maybe 4, are hubby's. So he says that hubby will love her even if she's not fat and there are probably internet chat rooms where she can find men who want married women with scars who aren't fat who'll want to fornicate with her, so please have the surgery. she says okie dokey.

meanwhile, House pits all the staff against each other and tells them one of them is getting fired. Cameron gets indignant and stuff and is strong and stands up to the pinkytoenail billionaire who now runs the hospital. and House still has to pick one. the black guy (sorry can't think of his name right now, but he's the black guy and no i'm not racist) says it should be Chase because Chase doesn't appreciate the job because he doesn't need the job. Chase is cutthroating because it's a zero sum equation and Cameron's loss is his gain and he wants the job. Cameron starts updating her resume. She also tells House that if the three staffers took a pay cut they could work it out. House goes into Billionaire's office and says that the 4 of them can take a 17% across the board pay cut and work it out. Evil Billionaire says that no, you have to fire someone, because I want to know you'll do my bidding always. At the end of the show, Cuddy and the evil billionaire (goodness, is Chi McBride a tower, or what?) are in House's office. House says Chase is fired, Evil Bill says no. Chase stays, pick someone else. That's pretty much the end.

Sarah, there's been so much spam that blacklist thinks the oddest things are "questionable" :) Thanks for your effort in recapping!

I've just read some poilers for the next four eps, and boy, can we expect some awesome TV!
