it's an incompetent one! Some fool is spamming my comments and not even leaving their skanky URLs. An example:
Please check some helpful info dedicated to- Tons of interesdting stuff!!!
I've gotten dozens of such in the last hour and it's very annoying.

I do, and it doesn't :) Different IPs, all different email addresses.
Posted by: Ith at November 30, 2004 3:49 PMHmmm, wonder to where our little friend who loved to leave millions of different quotes in my comments disappeared? He never left any URLs either. Ya really gotta wonder what's the purpose. At least, if they are seedin' the comments with links to some commercial site, ya have an inklin' of why the did it, but when they jes' seem to be makin' a pest of themselves, hmm.
Posted by: Tig at November 30, 2004 4:30 PMSpamming is so out of control, annoying, and offensive. It is worse than telemarketing EVER was! They should have passed a law on spam before telemarketing. At least with telemarketing you didn't have companies calling you about buying a Rolex, Texas holdem, Viagra, penis size, making women moan and much worse!
Posted by: Lori at November 30, 2004 4:44 PMI use mt-blacklist, but I finally had to start using mtclosecomments to stop the spammers. I usually get close 1000 spams a week, and I just do not have the time to spend every day cleaning up after theses slugs. I really hate having comments closed after a certain time, as there are some of my old posts that still bring in great comments. The ones about Ryan in Iraq has brought in so many comments from those that have been there and from those that are on their way.

Got MT-Blacklist? It doesn't always need an actual URL to work, if the spam is coming from a particular e-mail address or domain.
