KEIRA KNIGHTLEY, star of Pirates of the Caribbean, Love Actually and King Arthur, has signed on to star in the based on the true-life story of model-turned-bounty hunter DOMINO HARVEY in Domino. TONY SCOTT, director of Top Gun and, most recently, Man On Fire, is on board to direct. Scheduled to begin filming on September 27, Domino was penned by RICHARD KELLY, screenwriter of the deliciously campy cult classic Donnie Darko.Posted by Ithildin at August 3, 2004 3:20 PM | PROCURE FINE OLD WORLD ABSINTHEDomino will recount the compelling true-life story of Domino Harvey, the fabulously gorgeous daughter of movie star Lawrence Harvey (star of the original The Manchurian Candidate) who traded in her runway passport to become a real-life bounty hunter. Raised in Beverly Hills, Domino started her professional career as a successful Ford model. A rebel with a penchant for confrontation, Domino’s aggressive manner didn’t resonate with the well-heeled fashionistas in the couture world. A serendipitous chain of events eventually led her to the exhilarating world of bounty hunting, which proved to be a natural fit with her outlaw outlook. By the time she was 23, Domino was an established rebel with a cause in the extremely specialized field of bounty hunting.
Im still gacking over the fact that she is going to play Elizabeth in a remake (A REMAKE!!! HOW CAN THEY REMAKE SOMETHING THAT HAD COLIN FIRTH IN IT???????) of Pride & Prejudice.
Can someone PLEASE tell the wench that one needed to have BREASTS to wear that period's clothing.
The babe needs a boob job.
Posted by: Sharon at August 3, 2004 4:13 PMSharon, we're not going to do the P & P thing again are we?? :) (if you missed it the first time around, check it out here.) And I'm shocked you would want a perfectly normal (refreshingly so!) and attractive young woman to do such a thing! She had a lovely figure in PotC. Tsk!!
I'm just giving you a hard time :)
But honestly, I think she's great and has a perfectly fine figure and am so glad to see a young woman in her profession that has a secure enough body image not to put herself under the knife for some silly idea of what women should look like. Not all of us are C or D cups.

No, I *should* be ashamed of suggesting such a thing, especially since I had a breast reduction. And fakeness of that sort (implants) never carries off very well.
Still, I thought she was pleasant in PotC, but was not particularly wowed. And I loved the Firth version of P&P so much in my mind its pretty much a 'fait accompli'. Can't go any furher. To re-do it is to be playacting and not fulfilling any particular hole in the performance.
I have not seen the King Arthur film, so my opinion of her as an actress may rise or fall when I do...but I will probably wait until it is out on video.
But really, Regency clothing was MADE for women of a Rubenesque figure (like me!)
Jack Aubrey would find her 'uninteresting' to say the least.
Posted by: Sharon at August 4, 2004 10:43 AMAww, don't feel bad! I was just teasing you :)
As far as the remake goes, Jane Eyre is my all time favourite book from the 1800s and it's been remade over and over, along with my other fave "Wuthering Heights". Some versions are better than others, but I figure they'll keep making them :)
Posted by: Ith at August 4, 2004 10:49 AMSharon,
Is it truly a 'remake' of Pride and Prejudice? You do understand that it is a classic novel from Jane Austin, don't you? I don't think that it could be a 'remake film' since the popularity of such classic literature leads producers to re-envision such stories for film repeatedly. Surely you don't believe that all of the Hamlet films out there are 'remakes'?
Ah, I see that Ith or Lth makes this point on August 4, 2004. I guess I should stop reading books and keep up with these forums.
Good luck with that breast reduction Sharon.
Um, uh, er...[reduced to slack-jawed drooling speechlessness, sorry] ;-)
