He's So Mean!

Nick had to go and ruin a perfectly okay day by promoting Adrian Paul as James Bond! ACK! I hereby swear that if such a horrible event ever were to take place, I will drown my sorrows in martinis -- shaken, not stirred -- and count the days till "the man with two first names" is replaced. Absolutely anyone would be a better choice, honest!

(but I still love you anyway, Nick)

(and if I were to go with an HL alum, I'd pick Peter Wingfield a thousand times over for the role)

Oh, BTW, here's a supposed list of those in the running:

.... Clive Owen, Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, Hugh Jackman, Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom and little-known Scottish actor Gerald Butler, who actually had a bit part in the 1997 Bond caper Tomorrow Never Dies.

I think Clive Owen would be good, in a brooding kind of way, but I don't see him actually doing it. He's an indy film guy.

I think Hugh Jackman would be an excellent Bond and I might start watching again to see him in the role.

Heath Ledger, while cute, isn't old enough. Same with Orly - although in 10 years I can see him taking on the role easily.

My 2 cents.

Oh, c'mon - Rowan Atkinson is the natural choice!

I forgot about Hugh Jackman. He would be a great Bond!

Adrian Paul still kicks ass though! :)

HUGH JACKMAN - definitely (wipes drool off keyboard)

Would be even better if he could keep is Australian accent.

I send my best wishes for the move and hope it is frightfully uneventful!!

Hey Ith, I found a sight that I thought you might like...

Its run by a fellow FReeper and his wife, but it is really cool.

Nick, I could kick his ass [g]

One article I read said they might go with a younger Bond, which might be what they need to breath some life into the franchise. Orly would certainly do that -- think of all the younger fans he has that would grow up watching the movies. Other than that, I don't really have an opinion on any of those on the list.

I'd love to see either Clive Owen or Ewan McGregor as Bond.

(At least until they're willing to consider an Affirmative Action Bond, in which case, I'll happily volunteer, heh.)

Mmmmmm, Clive Owen.....

Ewan McGreggor is the man for the job.

A Flea-reader discovers the Bana rumour is not to be:

My man Adrian Paul is still in with a chance!

Posted by: Flea at August 3, 2004 7:50 PM

Adrian Pauls the man for the job.You can tell just by looking at him.Plus he has the british accent(unlikes Jackmans rough australian). If they fo for a young James Bond to satisfy the kiddies, that would be sad, why would they risk ruining the Bond Legacy, by getting some 20 year old kid, who cant even grow a moustache!

Just an FYI: when you post a comment, your IP address is logged, so it doesn't matter if you use different names and email addresses -- I can still tell it's the same person.
