Finally

The other piece of news I saw this morning was how the INS is finally doing sweeps for illegals in CA, AZ, and TX. Of course, the usual suspects, including the Roman Catholic church, are having fits. See, it's not sporting to arrest people once they've made it past the border. It's terrorizing illegals and treating them like they live in Iraq. [insert eye roll] By their measure, that means a bank robber who isn't arrested within a square mile of the bank should be given a free pass.

This Catholic personally thinks that illegals are illegals -- whether they're still dripping from the Rio Grande or not.

They really should come to NC. We have very lax driver's license issuing (the worst on the East Coast) rules. Ashcroft has been asked by neighboring states not to allow airlines to use NC licenses as identification. Of course, they get one here and then go elsewhere to "transfer" creating a paper trail of legitimacy.

I have really struggled with this. I have two friends (married to one another) who came to this country under the deception of the U.S. government as "visiting." Well,t hey brought the kitchen sink. I have no idea what it's like to live in an economically depressed country (no matter what Kerry tells me, I still see food on my table), but they live under the radar and part of me is annoyed that they live here freely, no taxes, no accountability, but they are kind people. They hope to receive immunity in another 12 years.
