Oh My!

Lachlan fills me in on some news I missed on MT, version 3, and the big load of cash you need to get it. Whoa! I have too many authours on the three blogs we have to even qualify for the most expensive personal edition. I'd have to get the $600!! professional one. Lordie! I don't mind paying for MT, but $200-$600 is a little rich for my blood. And I don't get why the number of authours on one blog matters? What's it to them, I guess I'm asking.

Well, this version will suit me fine for the forseeable future, and there's lots of options when I need to switch. I just hate having to learn yet another blogging system.

WHOA! That is steep. Well, well . . . I predict a massive exodus over to WordPress.

Ya know, pMachine is a good blogging tool and I'm surprised that more people don't use it.

They've reviewed their fees and POSTED CHANGES HERE.

For example, there is no longer a single-CPU limitatation -- they claim it was an oversight -- so your $600 problem should be greatly reduced.

The CPU thing was something I didn't know about at all, so that wasn't something that played into my post. Still don't know what it means :) No, I would still have to get the professional one at $600 to cover the authours we have, and I don't even know how it would work with Mickey and Paul who I host here at no charge to them.

So the changes didn't do anything to help me in my situation, I'm afraid. But as I've been saying, I don't see a need to upgrade from the version I use now, so this isn't a pressing matter. In a few years, when I do want to make a change, there will be plenty of options for me to choose from, I'm sure.
