A Theme

So John Kerry's campaign theme is going to be: 'Let America Be America Again'.

So what's America now? Cheese? Or maybe America is Ceti Alpha 5, and we're actually surrounded by aliens (or those nasty little ear critters from "Wrath of Khan"). Heck for all I know, America has actually been a guy named Lewis who lives on the Maine coast collecting driftwood.

"You...didn't expect to find this was Ceti Alpha SIX?" ;-)

Did I actually get the number right? I was torn between 7 & 5 :) Typed both in a couple times too.

No, you got it right, Ith. ST2 may be the overacting Olypmics, but in my mind it's the only Trek film that stands on its own and really bears repeated viewing. It's Moby Dick in space, after all.

Followups to ;-)

THIS is Ceti Alpha 5! Ceti Alpha six blew up 2 months after the Enterprise left and all was laid WASTE!

Which is what Kerry is going to do if he wins, to us first, then the rest of the planet.....

I loved WoK, especially Savik. Loved her character. It's probably my fave of the ST movies, with First Contact coming in a close second.

As perfectly OK an actress as Robin Curtis is, Kirstie Alley will always be Saavik: I agree, a great character. ST3 didn't just undercut her with the recast, it unfortunately changed her into a fairly mature scientist rather than a young soldier. It made her too obviously like Spock.

Agreed. Totally down played her Romulan half.

(Geeks are us [g])

"'s still regulation, Admiral."

"Wonderful stuff, that Romulan ale."

"My sister's youngest, Admiral."

Pardon the reference to a TV show that makes reference to a movie, but:

"Around the moons of Snivea I chuckle at thee...."
