Welcome to Tartan Day 2004
Hark, when the night is falling
Hear, hear the pipes are calling
Loudly and proudly calling
Down through the Glen
There where the hills are sleeping
Now feel the blood a-leaping
High as the spirits of the old highland men.

Calling in gallant fame
Scotland my mountain hav'n
High may your proud standards
Gloriously wave
Land o' my high endeavor
Land o' the shining river
Land o' my heart forever
Scotland the brave
High in the misty highlands
Out by the purple islands
Brave are the hearts that beat
Beneath Scottish skies
Wild are the winds to meet you
(Such) are the friends that greet you
Kind as the light that shines
From fair maiden's eyes.
Happy Tartan Day! I've got my appropriate tartan up as a wallpaper on my laptop. :)
Posted by: Jen at April 6, 2004 6:55 AMHappy Tartan Day! Hope it's been a wonderful day for you... :)
This was a wonderful idea because it caused me to go on a google search of "all things Scottish". I read many wonderful things about Scotland, her people and history - and saw many lovely pictures of same.
Nothing like stimulating the grey matter. ;)
Posted by: pam at April 6, 2004 12:46 PMThanks, Jen, Goldie :)
Pam, I'm glad I decided to go through with it. I didn't think many people would be interested, and boy I was wrong! Thanks so much for helping out with the festivities!
Posted by: Ith at April 6, 2004 12:55 PMDamn - how could I have missed Tartan Day? I better get to drinking.
Posted by: chris at April 6, 2004 4:20 PMThis was a wonderful idea - thanks so much. We had a ball with it, even with just finding out about it last night. Thanks for letting me participate :)
