WARNING! GIRLY POST AHEAD!!
I really like the new scent I chose, I really do. At first, I wasn't sure but it's grown on me. I was wearing Allure by Chanel and ran out as the winter was coming on, but since I usually wear Dolce & Gabana in the winter, I didn't replace it. Well, a few months back, the new Sephora catalog came out (joy!) and it had a section on new perfumes, one of them being Les Nuits d' Hadrien. I think it was the bottle and colour that drew my eye first. Then I read the notes and description and had to give it a try. It had tangerine and sandalwood notes, two of my favourites, so it was worth a shot. Glad I did! So now, I have a new favourite scent -- like I needed another one!
Les Nuits d' Hadrien
In the spirit of the original d'Hadrien, this warmer, more seductive scent has the familiar fresh top notes of icy Sicilian lemons warmed with rich vanilla, amber, and musk, leaving an intriguing Oriental trail behind the woman who wears it.
Notes:
Sicilian Lemon, Bergamot, Green Mandarin, Tangerine, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Indonesian Patchouli, Amber, White Musk.
I'm into classic. My favorite is still Tabu.

My current scent list is:
Allure - Chanel
Gucci #3
Accenti -- Gucci
Byzance (can't remember the brand)
My friend got me Gucci perfume for Xmas last year, and I love the scent, but I'm very allergic to it.
Posted by: Ith at March 30, 2004 3:45 PMIs white musk still musk as in animal musk?
Posted by: Annmarie at March 30, 2004 4:05 PMHeck if I know :)
Posted by: Ith at March 30, 2004 4:12 PMI've been on a perfume kick lately...and I've been DENIED! Still don't have the scent I want in my grubby little paws.
Posted by: Da Goddess at March 31, 2004 8:25 PMHey Ith, watch out admiting you like perfume...some people might not take you seriously when you start to talk politics, 'cause apparently, you can't smell good or look good while talking about el gobierno and be thought of as having anything much worth listening to (oh, they'll sniff and look, just won't listen).
Now, that aside, I really like Simply by Clinque. I am sooo curious about all these lovely sounding perfumes everyone is talking about.
And Sephora is real? I want their catalog- share the secrets, please? I read about it in Shopaholic and thought it had to be real, but didn't realize it was accessible to people outside of Manhattan.
Posted by: Rae at March 31, 2004 10:26 PMDG, as in you can't find just that right scent, or you can't find a particular one you want?
Rae, is Sephora real?? Honey, let me set you up! :) Nin and I are Sephora acolytes. We don't have one too near us, so we usually hit the one in Downtown Disney when we visit. But, there's always the website! : sephora.com But be warned, it's a dangerous place. And you'll find a lisitng of their stores on the website too. and my current fave makeup brand -- that they sell too -- is Smashbox. and that can also be found at smashbox.com
Oh, when I did the perfume post, I was thinking about you and your blog after reading about those yahoos you had to deal with.
Posted by: Ith at March 31, 2004 11:14 PMI looked up sephora.com and they have three in Las Vegas! Yeee-haaaw! Here I come, well, in a few weeks that is. I have got to pass the info around to all my girls.
I have heard smashbox eye stuff is really good...I am going to go check them out next- I love the internet!
"Yahoos"- such a good term...
Posted by: Rae at April 1, 2004 7:02 PMSmashbox makes a really good line of products. Nin swears by their primer, I love the anti-shine. They maek great eyeshadowm and the pots of eyeliner are a must have.
As for Sephora, I also like Hard Candy, Urban Decay, Paula Dorf, and Cargo. And Sephora will give you a sample of just about anything that's sampleable :)
We're hoping to go to Vegas in October.
Posted by: Ith at April 1, 2004 7:12 PMCitrus and spice (with bergamot sort of in-between) sounds delightful. When next we are someplace it is sold (which may be a while, we rarely shop anywhere as upscale as Tarzhay), I will want to find out how it suits the wee wifey. Given that her usuals are Youth Dew and Heavenscent I expect we'll like it.
I used to work in the perfume industry decades ago, setting up and running the bottling machinery. The fact that aftershave is bottled at 28 degrees F did not make having a bottle of it bust over me when I was unjamming the machine any more pleasant.
