A Vamp Is A Vamp

I've been keeping abreast of the Angel axing, and one of the things I've seen crop up is that WB canceled Angel to make way for yet another remake of Dark Shadows, and that WB is under the impression that fans of the vampire genre will find shows with vampires interchangeable. In other words, we'll all happily watch Dark Shadows and not miss Angel, cus, duh, it has vampires! What more could we want?

Morons!

I've never seen Dark Shadows (that I recall) and I'm not about to watch it becasue I'm expected to, anymore than I was going to watch that silly Aaron Spelling vampire show that was on when Forever Knight was (two episodes were enough). Lord, TV execs make me want to scream! I have to actually be interested in a show. Just throwing vampires at me isn't going to do it. Really.

(I still have my "Forever Knight, Embrace No Substitute" button on my
corkboard at work)

(now FK was a show!)

I watched Dark Shadows in junior high, IIRC, and liked it. I just wish they'd continued the story and hadn't given it a cliffhanger ending. I enjoy Angel, but for different reasons than I enjoyed FK. I'm also pissed at the producers of Angel for killing off Fred, the only character I really identified with!

*Growls* Why do they either always have to kill off my favorite characters, or let them linger in TV limbo forever? Why????

I agree, FK was definitely the show, & I'm happy that we at least have the DVDs now. I just want to know why they're considering doing movies for Angel and why not FK.

I loved Forever Knight! Can't remember why I stopped watching them...probably because our local station stopped showign them...some fo the network affiliates here in Houston are really screwy. But I will ahve to keep an eye out for teh DVDs now.

I got spammed into NEXT YEAR, and am seething about it.

Sharon, FK changed my life -- really and truly :) It was unique, well acted and written. I doubt I shall see its like again.

As someone who writes vampires and has always had an interest in them, I'm not happy Angel was cancelled. I will watch damn near anything with aforementioned subject matter although if it's not halfway decent, I don't make an effort to continue keeping up with it. One show I did adore was Kindred The Embraced. I watch FK repeats on SciFi. I've seen Dark Shadows and laughed my ass off at it. *g* I watch Buffy reurns. I will watch Angel until it's off the air and then reruns.

Gotta say I'm hoping Blade3 is better than the second one. Dracula's Curse with Patrick Bergin rocked and I found it to be much better than the stupid version with Oldman and Reeves. LOL

Unless there's a bloody good writer for the rumored Dark Shadows remake, I'll probably give it only one shot and laugh my ass off again if they stick real close to the original. *g*

If there's nothing satisfactory that can be found that's vampire related, I come up with my own stuff. Speaking of which, a second book does not write itself....

Kel, going back to writing
