Harry Potter & The Dopey Director

As a new Harry Potter fan, I now have all these extra articles to read, and I found a gem today! This is from an interview with Alfonso Cuaron who is directing Prisoner of Azkaban:

"It's a myth for our times," Cuaron tells Entertainment Weekly magazine in its Jan. 23 issue. "You read about Fudge and the Ministry of Magic — that's Tony Blair! And Guantanamo is not that different from Azkaban. There are Dementors there, too."

Viggo, call your agent! Here's a guy you can not only work with but share silly current event comparisons with too! It's a match made in heaven.

Geeez.

Reminds me that Aragorn's coronation speech in ROTK was the only time in the LOTR films I really felt Viggo the idiotarian actor rather Aragorn the character was talking: "blah blah blah blah PEACE!!!"

Bah. The man is a fool - if anything, Blair is the Anti-Fudge, for he dares to admit the danger and try to face it.

'Tis Cuaron and his ilk who are the Fudges of the world, for they deny that terrorists can actually harm -them-, and believe that if they can just ignore it long enough, it will go away.
