Blitherings

Okay, here's the deal. I'm sleepy, I want to go home, but not only do I have to wait for Nin to get off work, I'll bet she'll be late AS USUAL!! So if I get home before 7 I'll be lucky. So here I sit, wondering if I should blog, should I email, should I read my latest NRODT, or maybe I should look at the yummy Johnny Depp piccies in People for the.. [murmer mumble]... t...h time. (Sexiest Man Alive 2003, you know). Oh, BTW, it's very windy here right now. Weather turned on a dime from fairly mild, to windy and nippy in about the space of 1/2 hour this afternoon. [deep breath]

I could tell you about lunch (just like Jen). Okay, I will. Today was the annual Thanksgiving employee lunch. so the 11 of us went to the same restaurant we've gone to the last 4 years. I have yet to have a good meal here. Every time I order something that you think the couldn't screw up, they manage to anyhow. I should order the burger next time -- I really should. So today, I order the beef dip. It has thinly sliced Angus steak, how could that be bad? Welllllll.... it came, not with au jus, but a gelatin-like mixture with a ton of rosemary and thyme. Now this wouldn't have been so bad, except they drowned the meat in it before the served it. So my entire French dip sandwich was permeated with this goo. NASTY! The two glasses of wine (hence the sleepiness) helped, but not enough. And to top it all off, we were yet again seated in what I call, "the garden shed". It was musty and drafty and there were spores growing on the walls. So there. [pout].

You could go look here, at some wonderful Aurora Borealis pics. Boy, do I want to see the Aurora.

On a happy note, my Amazon order was delivered today, so I can watch the movie I ordered. I also need to watch last weeks Gilmore Girls and 24. And can you believe the voted Rupert off?!?!!? I'm not sure I want to watch it anymore. I'm also thinking off doing a tribute LotR blog theme this weekend if I'm feeling motivated. I bet you can hardly wait, huh?

And here's an EWW! A gift for those you don't like, I guess:

A Rare Gift
Looking for the ultimate holiday present? Only 1,500 copies of this special autographed edition of Senator Hillary Clinton's Living History were printed, making it not only a great gift but also destined to be a collector's item.

Amazon has an odd idea about gift giving.

Well, that's about it till I think of something else!

Same bat time, same bat channel....

I only have seen part of one episode of this season's Survivor. That was all I needed to know who Rupert is and that he rocks. I saw someone else comment with incredulity about his being voted off, saying that was it, no more watching. I bet they take a big hit, and Rupert does as well as the winner for fame and fortune afterward.

I know why they must have done it. Same reason this always happened on whassname, the quiz show with Anne Robinson as the host. People would conspire to vote of the smart person so one of the less smart people could have a chance. Same thing. And it's how the United States works, with voting for everyone and not just landowners. The lesser people can "vote out" the better people who make things function. But I digress.
