For Da Goddess

Da Goddess had some GH (General Hospital) questions for me here, and the answers are too long for comments.

This Alcazar is the dead one's younger brother, Lorenzo. He's not nuts like his late brother, but still a baddie. He wants to move drugs through Sonny's territory and will do about anything to get it. He kidnapped Carlie as a bargaining chip, and of course he fell in love with her. There's just no accounting for taste! I loath that woman. Anyway, Carlie got away, and he ended up, during her escape, capturing Sonny's sister, Courtney. He didn't treat Courtney very well at all, unlike Carlie. So Courtney, thinking he was going to kill her, jumped off the yacht and almost drowned. She did have a miscarriage because of the trauma. Alcazar's current plot is a woman who he transformed by plastic surgery into Lily. She's haunting Sonny right now. Alcazar figures when Sonny self destructs, he'll be there to rescue Carlie.

Now, things we've learned about Alcazar: he wasn't in the family business initially -- he was a history professor. His father didn't approve, but his older brother wanted to protect him from the "life". Now Lorenzo had a lady love named Sophie, who was killed in the jungle while there doing charity work. It was her death that turned Lorenzo to the "dark side". And I'm sure Sophie will make an appearance one of these days! He's also taken Dillon Quatermaine under his wing -- sorta. Dilllon is Tracy's son that she kidnapped all those years back. Dillon and Georgie Jones are currently the cute teen couple. Actually, they're both very good actors and very enjoyable to watch.

Stefan. I'm bummed with what they did with Stefan's character when they brought him back. They turned him into a pale version of Stavros. Ruined one of my favourite characters. The Cassadine's were on the verge of bankruptcy due to Helena's past machinations. So Stefan borrowed huge amounts of money while he arranged for Nicolas to marry an heiress. Her grandfather wrote his will so that she had to marry Nicolas and produce an heir to get the money. The creditors had threatened to kill Nicolas if they didn't get their money. In amongst all this, Emily was diagnosed with breast cancer. since her mom died of it, she was sure she was going to die. So she went to Nicolas, her best friend, and he agreed to pretend they were in love. She didn't want Zander to watch her die, so she came up with this plan. So Nicolas and Emily got engaged. Stefan went off the deep end, and arranged to have Emily murdered to get her out of the way. The servant, in the fog, pushed the wrong woman off the cliff. It was Summer, a woman Luke was fond of, and Lucky was in love with. So, of course, Luke swore vengeance, and he and Stefan were on the cliffs, Luke had a knife pressed against Stefan's chest, and Stefan shoved it into himself and fell off the cliff. Now Luke is wanted for Stefan's death, and Lucky, being a cop now, is trying to catch him.

Did that about cover it? :)

Oy vey...

OK, I have a question now. Seeing that I've actually caught a few episodes of this show during my days off (also known as Reason to get Cable TV back #867), could you please tell me why a show called General Hospital seems to have everything from gangsters to rich people but very little by way of a hospital?

It puzzles me...

When the show started back in 1963 (a very good year!) it was set in the hospital and was only about the doctors and nurses. In the 70's (I think) it expanded to be about more than just the hospital. I started watching in the early 80's when they filmed some eps in Victoria -- where i was living at the time -- so I watched to see how we looked. That was back when they were doing spy story lines, and I got hooked. Been watching ever since. It's odd seeing actors you first saw as children all grown up.

Ith......sorry it's taken me so long to comment...but, THANK YOU!

Now, if only I could get that job writing for GH that I've always wanted....I'd be happy and I'd introduce some of the fun story lines like they used to have.

And.....I'd bring back Robert. ;)
