A Moving Story

I read this at Michele's urging, and I'm very glad I did. You should go read it too.

Wow, what a beautiful story. After reading of the tragedy with sadness I was struck by what the author said about two people connecting thru a blog. I had a similar experience, though in my case I ended up truly ashamed and asking for forgiveness.

I had a really bad day and posted a rant which included a newsworthy item. Looking back I have no idea why I said what I said as it was truly inappropriate of how I really feel. Very odd, and perhaps it's only purpose was to teach me a valuable lesson.

About a year later someone did a search about the event and ran across my blog. What I said filled her and her children with great sadness and anger and she emailed me about it. I was horrified as I had forgotten this long since archived post. I really felt crummy.

I wrote her back, apologized and asked that she forgive me. I also removed the post and learned a huge lesson that day. She did forgive me and thanked me for being so contrite and for removing the post.

I learned that day to be ever so careful about posting something that, a) I really know nothing about, and b)that can hurt people, that we we will never meet, in a profound way.
