Breaking The Bank

A new analysis of Census Bureau data compiled by the Federation for American Immigration Reform shows that American taxpayers are paying $7.4 billion per year to educate the children of illegal aliens.

The estimated cost in some states is over one billion dollars, while others tally between six and 750 million dollars according to the report, "Breaking the Piggy Bank: How Illegal Immigration is Sending Schools Into the Red." " That's enough money to put a computer on the desk of every junior high school student in America."

When they cut programs and services to lawful students to fund programs for those not legally entitled to receive them I have issues. Free education is one of the incentives that encourage illegal immigration and should be curtailed. Lawful residents and citizens should not be denied computers, arts (music, languages, classics, etc.) and science because the money is going to bi-lingual and special ed programs for illegal aliens.
