BBC spy drama 'incites racial hatred'
The BBC has received nearly 1,000 complaints after broadcasting an episode of a spy drama showing a Muslim leader training a young suicide bomber.
The episode of Spooks, a series about MI5 shown on BBC1 last night, featured a radical cleric in a fictional Birmingham mosque who recruited young Muslims to become terrorists.
It was aired despite appeals for it to be pulled and viewers flooded the BBC with calls, making it the most complained about programme of the year.

Inayat Bunglawala, an MCB spokesman, said: "The images the viewer was left with was of a young boy strapping himself with explosives and walking into a yard full of children; students shouting 'death to America' and 'death to infidels'; and a sinister imam.
Hmmmm, I'm beginning to think that maybe it's only the BBC's news divisions that are thoroughly infiltrated by Fifth Columnists...
"We are very worried about the consequences. We believe this is inciting religious hatred."
Yes, Heaven forefend that the BBC might portray anything resembling the reality of radical Islam, that would just be wrong.
